Use Pangolin QuickShow or BEYOND with a LaserCube

Already work with QuickShow or BEYOND? A LaserCube Ultra MK2 or LaserCube Pro can be the projector it drives: connect your Pangolin interface to the cube’s ILDA input, as with any ILDA laser. That is an FB3, or an FB4 in Pangolin’s external housing, which sends ILDA to an existing projector.

How to connect it

Connect the ILDA cable from your Pangolin interface to ILDA In (DB-25) on the back of the cube.
The cube switches from its own built-in DAC to the external one by itself, whatever its control mode: there is nothing to set. While the ILDA input is in use, the status bar on the cube’s screen turns cyan.
In QuickShow or BEYOND, set the scan rate to 30,000 points per second (our suggestion for any external DAC).
Arm the cube as usual: it emits only when the interlock is closed and the key is on, and, with an E-Stop connected, after you press its green START button.
If a faint beam stays on when it should be off, raise In Mute in the cube’s Settings, ILDA Input Cfg menu (how it works).

The Ultra MK2’s ILDA Out repeats what the cube projects, including the signal from an external DAC, so it can drive a second ILDA projector.

No Pangolin interface? The cube has a DAC built in

Software on a computer can also drive the Ultra MK2 and Pro over the network, with no extra hardware: LaserOS and programs that support the LaserCube directly (such as Liberation, LaserShowGen, MadMapper and Millumin) in LaserOS control mode, and programs that use IDN or Ether Dream in those control modes. Which one to use depends on your program: see Laser Show Software in the LaserCube manual.
